13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Clay Jensen’s longtime crush, Hannah Baker has committed suicide. Two weeks later, while walking home from school one day, Clay encounters a package on his doorstep. Inside are 13 tapes, recorded by Hannah herself, detailing the 13 reasons as to why she decided to take her life. To his surprise and horror, Clay is one of them. Forced to listen to the events that led to Hanna’s death, Clay learns more about Hannah than he ever knew while she was alive, and his life changes forever.
13 Reasons Why changed my outlook on life. Just the new perspective on suicide alone has caused me to view death as a whole differently. If you haven’t read this book, it is absolutely brilliant, and it will be on of (if not the) most powerful novels you will ever read.
