The Cellar by: Natasha Preston
The Cellar is an intense novel that contains graphic scenes of murder, abuse, and sexual assault. If you are someone who is not in a position to experience these types of events, this novel is not for you.
About the book: Summer lives an ordinary life in an ordinary place with ordinary people. Everything changes, however, when she is kidnapped and forced to live her life as Lily. “Lily” meets three other girls, Rose, Poppy and Violet, and learns that her captor is named Clover, and the four girls are his perfect, pure flowers and just one part of his delusional life fantasy. The Cellar provides a variety of perspectives, including, Summer’, Lewis’ (Summer’s boyfriend), and of course, Clover’s. It is riveting, dark, and keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
I personally have read The Cellar three times, as it is one of my all-time favorites. The imagery and characterization is extraordinary, and it is so action packed that I couldn’t put the book down. Once again, let me know what your thoughts are in the comments!
